YOU
ARE MY BELOVED…. WITH WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED-
INTRODUCTION: Dear friends, a
warm welcome to this Eucharistic celebration. We have come together to
celebrate – the wonders God has worked in and through us. We have tried our
level best to make all those entrusted to our care to come closer to Jesus in
helping them to deepen their faith in him. And here we are to celebrate this
generous and loving call from God to us. It is very appropriate that today’s
gospel tells us about the Transfiguration of Jesus. Like the three disciples of
Jesus, we are the privileged ones to listen to the voice of the father speaking
to Jesus “you are my beloved son…”may be he is addressing to each of us, as
well and says: “you are my beloved…. With whom I am pleased!” so let us open
our hearts to His word and let us celebrate our commitment in being His
beloved.
We start our Eucharist with the entrance hymn…
Entrance hymn…
Penitential rite: you are my beloved….with whom I am well
pleased….
In our baptism we too have been confirmed by the father in
His sonship: you are my beloved. Each of us and together all of us are god’s
beloved. Do I consider it my privilege to be God’s beloved and therefore that I
have responsibility to treat myself and others as such?
Lord, we ask your pardon for
the times we have failed to realize our preciousness and also to acknowledge
and appreciate the preciousness of others…..Lord have mercy.
Hymn…….have thine own
way lord…..
It is wonderful for us to be
here; so let us pitch three tents.
Our search for wonders and miracles blinds us to the hard
reality of life and forces us to pitch tents amidst the extraordinary
happenings in our life. are we comfortable enough to face the challenges of
life or have we pitched tents to stay away from the difficulties and hardships
of life especially of our teaching ministry?
Lord, we are sorry for the times we have pitched tents for
ourselves and failed to accept the challenges and trials of life and as such
not done justice to our job as moulders of young minds…..Lord have mercy…
Hymn….. Have thine own way lord…..
They discussed among
themselves. What does this rising from the dead could mean.
The influx of modern
concepts and ideas have prompted us to keep questioning what this rising from
the dead could mean? Our resistance to such queries depends on the depth of our
faith. How deeply are we rooted in God? do we have adequate knowledge of the
word of God to help our students and our own selves to build a closer
relationship with God and with one another?
Lord, we are sorry for we have failed
to develop a deep relationship with you and as such our faith in you is shallow
and shaky. Due to our own inadequacies we have failed to inculcate true love
for you in the hearts of our students. Lord have mercy…..
Hymn: Have thine own
way Lord……..
Prayer: Lord our father, in the
transfigured glory of chirst your son, you strengthen our faith and show us the
splendors of your beloved sons and daughters. As we listen to the voice of your
son, help us to become believers and proclaimers of this good news always.
Thanks giving: you are my
beloved… with whom I am well pleased.
Father, we thank you for
calling us your beloved. Each of us is precious to you. Give us the grace that
in our turn we may realize the preciousness of each child and treat each one
with love and concern. Help us father to instill in the hearts of our students
this sense of belonging. May we live and help them to live as your most beloved
ones.
IT IS WONDERFUL FOR US TO BE
HERE; SO LETL US
PITCH THREE TENTS.
Father, through this eucharist
you have made us realize that life belongs to those who dare to live. help us
to live with optimism and be positive enough to face challenges in life rather
than to seek easy ways of glamour and success. Motivate us to inspire our
students through our very life and words to face challenges of life
courageously and not quit when you offer opportunities
to suffer with you and for you.
THEY DISCUSSED AMONG
THEMSELVES…WHT DOES THIS RISING FROM THE DEAD COULD MEAN?
Father you have entrusted to us
the most delicate and precious task of moulding the minds of our students. Fill
us with your wisdom to learn more about you, to understand what we learn and to
live what we believe. Strengthen and deepen our faith in you father, so that
through us you may carry out fruitfully this wonderful mission.
Concluding prayer: lord, we
rejoice that you are our creator and ruler. As we call upon your generosity,
renew and keep us in your love. Grant this through Christ our lord….
