PRAYER SERVICE FOR MOTHER’S DAY - 

PREPARATION: heart, a picture of mother and child.

Introduction: 8^th September, is the birthday of mother Mary. This day is dedicated to mothers all over India and the world. Today, we have gathered over here to thank and praise God for the love and dedication of our heavenly mother and our earthly mother.

Leader: now let us listen to what the community have to say about mother.

-          Mother, is a gift of love and dedication

-          Mother is self sacrificing and alert to perform her duties.

-          Mother is the one who gave us the gift of life.

-          Mother is always concerned and brings joy to our life.

-          Mother is the presence of living God in our life.

Let us bring out the qualities of our mother who loves and dedicated her life for us.

Reading: Lk 1:39-45

Mary our heavenly mother visits Elizabeth her aunt. Elizabeth was pregnant and Mary  our mother was concerned about her aunt who had conceived in her old age. Here is our heavenly mother who is a model of love, concern and service.

Prayer: Dear God, we thank you for our mother who has been the gift of love and dedication. Mother, you are the one who shows us the way to love and service. Lord, thank you for our mother. May she have good health and peace. We pray for your manifold blessings upon her….
