Introduction: dear friends, I am a person, not a hopeless person. I am hopeful person. Every one has hope in life. He hopes for something or someone. Without hope, no one can live his life meaningfully. Today, we invite you to be hopeful. What is hope? Is it a wish? Is it a dream? Is it a real? Is it possible? Let’s watch and see:

Commentator: Nellie, what is hope according to you?

Nellie: it seems to me the word hope itself sums up our religion, the belief in God, our confidence in him, our expectation that we will have everlasting life. A sick person hopes to get cured, a student hopes for good results, a sportsman hopes for the crown of victory, a farmer hopes for good crops. Thus hope keeps every one going steadily in his life. Hope gives courage, joy, and assurance. It motivates the person to give the best of him.

Commentator: hope is an expectation of something desired. Deepak, you seem to be a person of hope. What do you expect of India in the coming year?

Deepak: I hope of a land that has roads without holes, administration without corruption, business without greed, industries without pollution, products without adulteration, hospitals without congestion and examinations without cheating.

Commentator: sister, what do you hope?

Sister: I hope tat the uninterested students will one day become studious.

Reflection: Yes, dear friends, Hope keeps our confidence alive. It enables us to live as though we were children of a king. God’s love becomes so real that we no longer question it. We simply accept it as a wonderful fact of life. We cannot live without hope. We have to have some purpose in life, some meaning to our existence. Without hope we will die.

          Hope looks for the good in people instead of harping on the worst.

          Hope opens the doors when despair closes them.

          Hope discovers what can be done instead of grumbling about what cannot.

Hope lights a candle instead of cursing the darkness.

Hope regards problems, small or large as opportunities.

Hope pushes ahead when it would be easy to quit.

Hope accepts misunderstanding as the price for serving the greater good of others.
