BE
OPTIMISTIC -
Hymn: I am your child Abba father….
Leader:
our theme for today is is optimistic. Who is an optimistic person?
The optimistic person is the most
sensible person in the world. He does his best and hopes for the best. He takes
the present day calmly and thinks of the future with confidence. He is not a
victim of morbid thoughts, despondency or excitement. Bad luck has no power to
shatter him. He is the tonic for the ills that can’t be reached with liver
pills, he helps to make the desert bloom, he plants the grouches in the tomb;
he is here to dissipate the gloom of life’s disasters.
Jesus was born two thousand years ago
but he is still with us. Though he is born everywhere and everyday, every time
and every hour. Have you seen him? He is close to us, he is besides us. Did I
recognize him? He was the optimistic person. He saw well in everyone. He healed
the poor/sick, forgave sins, raised the dead. As we prepare ourselves to step
into new life let us ask God for pardon and mercy for all our wrong doings.
Penitential
rite:
- Dear God, how many times you
have come to visit me at my place, through different people. But sometimes I am annoyed with their
presence and drove them out due to my cold welcome. Lord has mercy…
-
Lord
you came knocking to my door through different people, asking something to
quench your hunger, but I just turned you away without realizing that you were
coming to give me inner joy. Lord has mercy…
Let
us offer some gifts and ask him to make us an optimistic person.
Empty plate: Lord
the empty plate stands for the millions of hungry children in the world. Help
us not to waste food and to make little sacrifices to share with the poor.
Green leaf: Lord
this green leaf symbolizes the peace you brought into this world. Help us to be
peace-bearers and peace-carriers.
