Birthday Prayer- 4

                                                                                                                   

Angelus :- Oh God you filled Mary with Jesus . Fill us with tour love. You gave Mary words of wisdom. Whisper to us that we may speak only good and helpful words. Let us ask our Mother Mary to pray with us as we sing  Hymn from sing life 113.

Holy Spirit Prayer – Spirit of the living God dwelling in our hearts blow a fresh spirit on every member of the body of Christ . Today open our eyes to the great inheritance that ours in you Jesus and in the church. Shine your light into our hearts. Reveal the areas that need tour loving touch. Oh divine physician make us whole. You are the source of our strength, hope and love. Let us invoke the holy spirit as we sing hymn  -----------

Aarti Prayer :- Lighted lamp is your symbol oh God. You are like the light of the morning when the sun  rises. Thank you lord for having created us in your image and likeness and granted us the grace to be the reflection of your light. We thank you for all your goodness to us and specially to our dear sr. Lucia as she celebrates her birthday. The flowers symbolizes the goodness of Sr. ______I request her to perform the aarti as her total surrender to be filled with his light and radiate  the same to the people.

Opening prayer :- Life is the most beautiful and precious gift that God has placed in human hands. We exist not by our own initiative but that of others mainly that of God. Because it is he who thought of us in his divine plan and it is he who formed us in our mother’s womb. God rejoices at every new creation and every new born child is the sign that god is still in love with human kind. Dear Sr. ______the God of love says today you are precious in my eyes, you are mine. I love you.

                  Dear Sr. _______ it is a great and deep significance. All these years God has loved you and his love has made you more beautiful and precious for him and for others. As you celebrate the event of your birthday we thank God for all the loving care and blessings bestowed upon you and for all the graces that god has showered upon you. Let us join with our Sister  and rejoice singing the praises of God .

Dear sr.   the joy you experienced the pain you underwent the, the existing experience of your life, with those thrilling ones, the people you met, during these years the circumstances in which you lived your generosity love service & commitment all these have contribute to your growth and have made you more worth for GOD and for us . Today it is worth taking the stalk  of all these events and in silence begin to count the blessings of the Lord one by one .

         May this birthday of yours be a sign post to you where you stay a while to look back on the road by which you came to look around at the miles which remain to be traveled. May your past brighten by your present, strengthen and build up the future with the lord. We wish you a very happy birthday and with you we plead him for many beautiful years of loving service.  Hymn L. 37

            Life is like -------- a song. We write in our own tone and key. Each lute we touch reflects a note that forms a melody . We choose the theme and chorus of the song to bear our name. And each will have a special sound. No two can be the same. Life--- A gift to share.

Story

Once upon a time there was a king . He was very generous. He called five of his subjects to his palace and surprised them by giving each a very precious gift. On receiving the gift all five were amazed but each for a different reason.

1)      The first subject took the gift . Looked at it bowed his head and said ,No sir I am not worthy to receive your gift. I do not know how to use it. And perhaps in receiving it I would be obliged to offer you a gift in return which I am unable to do. Your gift is now my burden. Here it is. I give back to you.

2)      The second looked at the gift and said, What a beautiful ribbon. Let me put it in my showcase for all to see the precious gift the king has given me.

3)      The third immediately took the gift ,went to the corner to make sure no one was looking and no one would cast a jealous eye on what he had received. He then opened it eagerly and began to consume its contents all by himself.

4)      The fourth received the gift and was dissatisfied  because he expected something else. I wanted a cake and you gave me bread. I wanted a car and you gave me a bicycle. I wanted a voice to sing and you only gave me a voice to speak. I hate your gift. And he threw the gift down,

Trampled on it and walked away.

5)      The fifth received the gift with delight , opened the rapper with anticipated joy, was amazed at the precious gift he beheld and then ran up in gratitude to the king and said, I am sincerely grateful for the honors you have bestowed on me by giving me such a precious gift. For choosing me from so many unworthy as I am. Thank u ! thank u! And then in sheer delight he called the neighbors and began to share his gift with them and to tell them of the good things the king had done for him.

But what does it mean to accept life as a gift of God?

          Yes dear Sr. ________  Life is a gift of God to you and to each of us. Your parents nurtured your life but it was God who gave it to you. Therefore every human life is willed by God. We are not here by chance but by choice. Through this story the Lord wants to convey a message to you that your life is holy , sacred, mysterious. It is unrepeated. Each life is distinct, unique and original. You are endowed with a separate identity. Your life is purposeful. It is a gift for a purpose. You ought to discover what this purpose is and strive to fulfill it. Human life has great potential.

Intercessory  Prayer

Concluding Prayer :-  Dear Sr. _______as you look back into  the shore of your lives journey you see the foot prints of God. A God who has walked with you side by side all along the way and listed to your cares and helped you to carry your burden and shared your joy and sorrow. May you continue to remain faithful to him. We make this prayer through Jesus Christ your son who lives and reigns with you forever and ever Amen.
