Introduction: Today is the days which was made by the lord for each one of us and especially to our dear sister… so let us rejoice and be glad to sing and praise our god the creator the maker of life. God our loving father we praise and thank you for the gift of new life and New Year to our dear sister who is the precious gift to our congregation, to her friends far and near. Thank you Lord for all that she is to each one of us. Today is a beautiful and important day as she commemorates her birthday in this world. Yes dear sister life is a first gift of god to you and to each one us. Your parents nurtured your life but it was god who gave it to you. Therefore every human life is willed by god. We are not here by chance but by choice. The lord wants to convey a message to you that yours life is holy, sacred, mysterious. It is unrepeatable each life is distinct unique and original. You are endowed with a separate identity. Your life is purposeful it is a gift for a purpose. You ought to discover what this purpose is and strive to fulfill it. Human life has great potential – each human being is endowed with gifts ranging from the physiological to the spiritual. The combination of talents in an individual makes the individual truly potent with creativity and power.

Let us hear the conversation between God and sister. “You are special to me.”

God- Happy Birthday dear sister.

Sister-Thank you Lord, for greeting me with your divine presence on this beautiful day. The entire family rejoices on my birthday, everyone comes to greet me with bouquet of flowers, cards, prayers and blessings. I feel so privileged and happy to celebrate my day. But I cannot understand why this birthday remains so special to me. There are so many others in the world, why have you created me so specially? Without me also this world would be very beautiful.

God- Yes, I could have made a world without you, but don’t you realize this? That I did not want a world without you? A world without you would have been incomplete for me.

Sister-Why am I very special?

God- Yes, my child you are the child of my heart the delight of my thoughts, the apple of my eye.

Sister- You would have made a different structure born of a different parent, born in a different place, in a different culture endowed with different set of gifts.

God- But I did not want you to be different. It is you that I love. Just as every grain of wheat, sand on the sea shore and every snow flakes that falls in winter time has its own unique structure. As no other human being has composed ever been. It is you that I love and that I have always loved and will always love.

Letter from heaven: - My most beloved daughter listens to the lord who made you who formed you in the womb of your mother. Before I formed you I know you. I knit you together in your mother’s womb. Your life and everything belongs to me. I created you in my image. You are precious in my sight and I love you. When you were a child it was I who taught you to walk. I picked you up and held you to my cheeks. I bent down to you and fed you. I have cared for you from the time you were born. Even if your mother forgets you I will never forget you. I will guard you as the apple of my eye and hide you in the shadow of my wings and I will be with you. You shall be my treasured possession. I will never let you be defeated and put to shame. I will give you a success and fight against whoever fights with you.

BIRTHDAY PRAYER-2

Angelus – Lk. 1/26-53

One day God sent his messenger to Nazareth to a girl called Mary. The Messenger said

MESSENGER : Rejoice Mary for the Lord has blessed you ! He is very pleased with you.

MARY: am I me?

MESSENGER : Do not afraid Mary listen, you are going to have a baby and you will call him Jesus and your cousin Elizabeth also is with child.

MARY : My cousin Elizabeth?

MESSENGER : Yes

MARY : I am the servant of God, I am glad to do what he wants.

When she went as quickly as she could claim the hills where Elizabeth lived. Mary went in to Elizabeth house and said.

MARY : Hell. How are you ?

ELIZABETH : I am proud that you have come to visit me. Because the Lord has blessed you with a special child.

MARY : I praise the Lord for he is good. He makes me glad. I am young and I am poor and he comes and chooses me and from now on, everyone will say that he has blessed me.

PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT :

Come O Spirit of love and renew the face of the earth ones again a new garden of grace and sanctity of justice and love. Come O Spirit of love and renew the whole church bring to the perfection of love and of unity and of holiness that we may become today the greatest of all lights. Come O Spirit of wisdom and understanding ,  open the way for hearts to the understanding of the truth with the burning force of your divine lire. Come spirit of counsel and fortitude, make us courageous witnesses of the Gospel we have received. Come O Spirit of knowledge of piety and fear of the Lord. YOUR ANGEL ON EARTH :

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born. So one day she asked God, “ How am I going to live on earth being so small and helpless?”

God replied, “Among the many angels, I chose one of  you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you”.

Child : But tell me , here in heaven, I don’t do anything else but sing and smile. That’s enough for me to be happy.

God :“ your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you  every day. And you will feel your angel’s love and be happy.

Child :  And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I don’t know the language that men talk?

God: your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear and with much patience and care , your angel will teach you how to speak.

Child :  And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you ?

God: your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.

Child : I have heard that on earth there are bad people.  who will protect me ?

God : your angel will defend you, even if it means risking  its life.

Child : But I will always sad because I will not see you anymore.

God : your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you

At  that moment there was much peace in heaven but voices from earth could already be heard and the child in a hurry asked softly.

Child : Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell  me my angel’s name.

God : your angel’s name is of no importance but you will call your angel Mother

A  pocket covered well is placed on a stool, on which it is written “ Life is a gift to share with others”. Every new born child is a precious gift of God. Dear Sr. ____________ today is a joyous and unforgettable day for all of us, especially for Sister as she celebrates the life given to her. Today is a special day  on which she was brought to this world through her beloved parents. Therefore  today is a day of day, a day of surprise, a day  of gratitude. Dear Sister  this day reminds you to be grateful  to God for his marvelous love you have experienced through different persons, events, experiences and all the wonders that God has done in your life. Every birthday reminds us and invite to raise our hearts and minds to the almighty God for his unconditional love, unending mercy. The continuous protection and His loving guidance. FLOWER BOUQUET :

(Sister’s sister name______) loves flowers so dearly. So she starts growing a garden in front of her house. There are a variety of flowers in it, with different colours, fragrances, shapes and sizes. On  her sister’s birthday she wanted to present her with a beautiful flower bouquet. So she got inside the garden and started plucking varieties of flowers. She arranged them in a beautiful vase with  some artistic sense. Big and small, all had their own special place in the vase. She poured some water in the vase, so  that the flowers may  not fade away. She presented it to her sister. Sister was surprised and delighted to see the bouquet. The flower vase looked perfect and beautiful, because the flowers were arranged in perfect combination of colours, shapes and sizes.

Reflect :

Let us get into the core of our own being. God has created you and arranged everything so beautifully with perfect order. But if you try to rearrange the order given by God it is a waste of time and energy. The flower vase is a beautiful expression of your life. Every day you come across people with different   attitudes, ideas, likes and dislikes. Sometimes you try to segregate them  according to their quality, colour and difference. Alas!  you find that your vase is incomplete and imperfect. You often forget the plain truth that each of us is unique and special. Whether big or small, dark or fair, we are created in His image and likeness.  “ No two snowflakes are alike, yet each is beautiful. No two sunsets are alike, yet each is glorious. No two human beings are alike, yet each has a glory; Each has a beauty we must accept and appreciate. We are God’s masterpiece, created a little less than the angels”.

Ps:       Yahweh you examine me and you know me. You know if I am standing or sitting, you read my thoughts from far away, whether I walk or lie down you are watching, you know every action of mine.

God:    Do you really believe, my child that I am present to you?

Ps:       Lord Yahweh. I cannot see you but there are times when I do  sense your presence. The word is not even on my tongue, Yahweh, before you know all about it.

God:    Yes my child, no matter which way you turn I am there to confront you. Like a city wall, I surround you, shielding you from this and protecting you from that.

Ps:       Yes Lord, you formed my very being it was you who created my inmost self and put me  together in my mother’s womb, for all these mysteries and for the wonders I thank you.

God:    Yes, it was I put you together in your mother’s womb. With my creative power I gave you life because you are my creature, I am the one who determines the numbers of your days I had plans for you my loved one, while you were still in your mother’s womb.

Ps:       Oh! Yes Lord Yahweh, how Lord it is to grasp your thoughts,  how  impossible to count them, I could no more count them than I could count the sand and suppose I would still be with me.

Life- A Gift to share :Story- Role Play

 Once upon a time there was a king. He was very generous. He called five of his subjects to his palace and surprised them by giving each a very precious gift.

On receiving the gifts all five were amazed – but each for a different reason.

The first subject took the gift, looked at himself, bowed his head & said, no sir, I am not worthy to receive your gift. I would not know how to use it and perhaps in receiving it I would be obliged to offer you a gift in return which I am unable to do. Your gift is now my burden. Here it is, I give back to you.

The second looked at the gift and be said what a beautiful ribbon. Let me put it in my show case for all to see the precious gift the king has given me.

The third immediately took the gift, went to a corner to make sure no one was looking and no one would cast a jealous eye on what he had received. He then opened it eagerly and began to consume its content all by himself.

The forth received the gift and was dissatisfied because he expected something else. I wanted a cake and you gave me bread. I wanted a car and you gave me a bicycle. I wanted a voice to sing & you only gave me a voice to speak. I hate your gift & through the gift down trampled on it and walked away.

The fifth received the gift delight opened the wrapper with anticipated joy, was amazed at the precious he bewailed and then ran up in gratitude  to the king and said ‘I am sincerely grateful for the honor you have bestowed on me by giving me such a precious gift. For choosing me from so many unworthy as I am. Thank you ! thank you ! thank you ! and then in sheer delight he called the neighbors and  began to share his gift with them and to tell them of the good things the king had done for him .

But what does it mean to accept life as  the gift  of God?

As dear Sr._________  life is the first gift of God to you and to each of us your parents nurtured your life but it was God who gave it to you . Therefore every human life is willed by God. On this day we thank you heavenly father for our dear Sr. _________ whom you have chosen for your service we ask you father to walk with her to show your marvelous & love throughout her life. Help her to grow in the knowledge of your love & find true joy in serving with undivided hearts.

      

INTRODUCTION:

               One morning the angels realized that God is going to perform a great work. They anxiously waited to see what is going to happen. They even had an argument among them on this issue. Some said, he is going to create a new star, some said, no, He is going to build a nation, some had the opinion that He is going to perform a great miracle, that was to create a human being, who will be called …., the daughter, of Mr.& Mrs.                    Yes, dear sisters, today we are here this morning to celebrate the great miracle, which God had performed many years ago.

                 We thank God too, for the gift of life to Sr. .. who also celebrates her birthday today. For all that she is to her family, Congregation and to this community ...... We thank and praise you Lord.

We invite sisters .. and … to light the lamp.

 Life is a gift of God out of His abundant love. This gift is to be celebrated. Life is to be celebrated. To celebrate life is to appreciate God who gave this precious gift. To appreciate God is to be with Him with songs of love and thanksgiving. To praise Him in gratitude is true prayer. This prayer springs up from the depth of one’s heart and leads to total surrender. Today we join with Sr…..in her prayer of thanksgiving to God for the gift of her life.

Lord, giver of life, in to the immensity of your love and mercy, we let ourselves disappear as we praise you for the life you have gifted to our dear Sr….You created her in your beauty and filled her with your tenderness and love. You constantly renewed her as you guided her through the journey of her life. You touched her with your wisdom and enlightened her as you set her apart only for you. Story:

Narrator: Years back there bloomed a beautiful rose in a garden. All admired its beauty. One day …..

 Passer By: what a beautiful rose, I feel I am lost in it’s beauty and fragrance.

Narr: Rose began to think…….music

Rose: if I am so beautiful..  Then how beautiful will be my creator? I want to see my creator

Narr: Here she starts her journey in search of the creator and there on the way she meets a young girl.

Young Girl: this is a beautiful rose. Let me pluck it to put it on my hair.( she reaches her hand to the rose)

Rose: please don’t pluck me, I am in search of my creator but please show me the way.

Y. G.: what will you give me if I show you the way?

R:  I have nothing else to offer you except the beautiful and soft petal.

N: with a pain in the heart yet with joy the rose offers its petal and continues its journey.

Small child: this is a wonderful flower, which I can give to my Mama on her Birthday.

N: hearing this the rose cried out..

Rose: please darling don’t cut me I am on my way to see the creator, please do help me in my search.

Ch: what will you give me if I help you?

R: I have nothing else to give you other than my petals.

N: again the rose with a deep pain in the heart but with a great desire of meeting the Lord offers its petal to the child.

Woman: this rose will look beautiful in my vase let me cut it

R: have compassion on me and do not cut me because I want to see my creator.

W: what’s that to me? I want you.

R: I will give you my petal but do not cut me.

N: the rose offering it’s one more beautiful petal to the woman continues it’s journey. But then stops for a while with a deep pain in heart and says….

R:If I continue to give myself I will be disfigured and will I be able to reach my creator? [Sobbing]

God: My beloved you are the reflection of my beauty and you added beauty to yourself. You fulfilled my plan for you when you gave yourself generously and selflessly without counting the cost of it even though it was painful. Go ahead on your life’s journey with conviction and determination. Never lose heart. I your creator am with you in all that you dream and hope for. Continue to be what you are to the people around you. Yes dear Sr. … Today this is the message of God gives for you that you may continue to be that beautiful rose to spread the fragrance wherever you move and add beauty in the lives of the people you encounter and live with.

Dear Sr. … as you look back into the shore of your life’s journey you see the foot prints of God. A God who has walked with you side by side all along the way  and listened to your cares and  helped you to carry  your burden and shared  your joys and sorrows.  He asked, “People say you are a genius, Are you?

 “You might say so” said the master none too modestly.

 “What makes one a genius?

“The ability to recognize.”

 “Recognize what?”

 “The butterfly in a caterpillar: The eagle in an egg: The saint in a selfish human being.”

Dear teachers, the society considers each one of us as genius therefore they have entrusted their children in our care. They count on each of us for the betterment of the society, especially the young minds of the society.

Do we have the ability to recognize….

·         Are we able to recognize… A doctor in the one who sits in front of us and listens to our Lectures?

·         Are we able to recognize… a Scientist in your student who will make difference in our life by his/her research and discovery?

·         Are we able to recognize in your student the future business Tycoon of our country?

·         Are we able to recognize… an efficient Politician who would change the Political scenario of our country by his/her efficiency?

·         Or An ARTIST who will beautify the earth with his Creative mind..

·         A Tech SAVY who will develop the artificial intelligence of our era and develop the country technologically?

·         An ASTRONAUT who will fly high taking your name in the sky !!!!

·         Leave alone all these….

·         Do we recognize… a TEACHER in the TAUGHT?

·         If we ask the children of our class, what would you want to become in life, the answer will rarely be a TEACHER.

·         If we further ask what would be the reason that they don’t want to become a teacher… the answer may be SILENT.

·         Their silence can mean many things to us..

·         It can be because it is the least appreciated and highly expected job. But we have chosen a noble job of all job which others don’t have. Have we done justice to this noble job?

·         Dear Teachers “We can always count how many seeds are there in an apple but we can never count how many apples are there in a seed”.

·         Seed has the potential of life

·         The Seeds are given in our hands!!!

·         We are their maker & creator. Redeemer!!!
